Meridian Asset Finance (MAF) brings over 55 years of combined experience in structuring, finance, banking, leasing, accounting and tax. Having been together at major global investment bank for over 14 years prior to MAF, the team is a strong, cohesive and efficient unit, delivering tangible results while having developed several business platforms.

MAF provides a multitude of asset-based solutions for capital intensive businesses as well as tax efficient structures across a wide spectrum of industries. The team focuses on creative solutions for its clients while maximizing opportunities as they arise in the market and capitalizing on “first mover” advantage.

Notable team achievements include:

The team structured the first corporate level letter of credit facility to be used at the project level for a major independent US wind developer. The facility covered over 500MW of wind farms throughout the US.

Since 2008, the team has terminated or restructured in excess of $15 billion of LILO/SILO deals. The team has experience with both cross-border and domestic transactions on a wide variety of assets, ranging from power to transportation to infrastructure. MAF has worked with both lessees and lessors on a series of complex financial structures, as well as with various collateral, guarantee and defeasance providers.

The team has structured several tax efficient acquisition financings of asset portfolios including ones with power generation and lease assets.

The team structured a $400 million tax efficient divestiture for a large industrial company’s European capital subsidiary creating over $100 million of additional value compared to a straight sale.

The team structured the first and only synthetic lease funded in the high-yield bond market for Universal Compression (now Exterran). Utilizing a disparate yet homogenous collection of “crown jewel” assets, the structure provided high-yield investors with much sought after collateral protection, resulting in more attractive pricing than the underlying corporate credit.

The team structured the first and only real estate synthetic lease into Mexico for a Fortune 100 conglomerate.
